We’ve received lots of contact from families enquiring about whether we plan to fundraise in school for the current crisis in the Ukraine.
On Friday 18th March, we originally planned to wear red to school in recognition of Comic Relief Red Nose Day.
We are now inviting all our children to come to school wearing "Red for Refugee's" on the same day that we celebrate Red Nose Day. All monies raised will be donated directly to “Nightingales Children’s Project, Romania”.
This is a charity which was set up locally in Galmpton Village some years ago. Mrs Knapman has a great deal of knowledge about this charity as she is a constant supporter (if you have any questions, Mrs Knapman would be more than happy to answer them).
All monies raised will go direct to the charity and the funds will then be used to help Ukrainian refugee families who are fleeing their homeland and seeking shelter and support within Romania. They will also receive further support if they plan to continue travelling elsewhere.
You can find further information about the charity on their website - https://nightingaleschildrensproject.co.uk (we understand that they are in the process of updating the website with their Ukrainian Crisis Support information).
