Weekly Message and Headteacher's Awards

Weekly Message from Mrs Burns. Hello children, parents and carers. This week our groups have increased as we now have additional reception and Year 1 bubbles! It's been so lovely seeing children return. Some are understandably 'wobbly' but once in with their friends and familiar adults they're all very happy and enjoying school. Today our admin team will be contacting all Year 6 parents and carers to offer a place beginning this week! As you all know this has been a priority of mine since going into lock down and we're really thrilled to be getting our Year 6 children back in school. Unfortunately we can't have the whole class together but we are able to have them in two groups and we will ensure that the children can all talk and see each other with social distancing in mind. Please see this week's Headteacher's awards. Well done to all the winners! It's so wonderful to see all the fabulous learning and I will speak to our admin team today about how we can get certificates to children. Once again, well done to all parents and carers for your dedication and commitment to your children's' learning. I know that this has been a real challenge for so many but hope you will agree that all our teachers have tried exceptionally hard to ensure they are still in contact with their classes and have managed a really superb job in terms of home learning. So some media reports that teachers are enjoying an easier life are very far from the truth. All our teachers are all incredibly busy, teaching in school, planning for their classes at home and writing end of Year Reports and completing transition paperwork too. They have also completed a huge amount of online professional development over recent months. We continue to have weekly staff meetings online and teachers continue to have Trust wide meetings too. Our teaching assistants, as always, have given us some amazing support. Some are taking bubbles themselves and supporting teachers to manage their workloads. They're also getting the school ready for the wider opening and preparing the school for September. Our admin team have worked day and night to arrange provision for as many children as possible and have managed a complex situation with great patience and good humour. So I'm grateful for the whole team's efforts, and although many of you won't be aware of our work, please be assured that we have continued to strive to do our best for our pupils throughout these challenging and changing times. Tomorrow I will post this week's act of worship. Have a lovely week and as always, any requests or concerns do please contact us, best wishes Mrs Burns Like
